[et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]I was really glad to have been given the opportunity to offer an insight into one of the most elusive and funky new eateries opened in London: The Theatre Cafe Diner. Now for anyone who knows me, I love me a musical and stagey experience. This was exactly that, on steroids! The place was filled to the brim with exciting little areas pertaining to shows, all while you sip (or chomp) away and get belted in your face. Now, in terms of what it’s all about here’s a handy video promoting the exeperience and my honest review is below:
Entrance : This was really exciting, and as you walk towards the venue opposite the Place Theatre (where Cursed Child is currently playing). The outside is cleverly place with boards of shows currently gracing the West End (I wonder if they’ll update the Come From Away one once it leave in January 2023) and the stagey lights are perfect.
** Fun fact: every dish is a pun based on a show! **
Starter : My guest and I went for the loaded skins (SHOW ME THE MEANING OF BEING LOADED) and quesadilla (QUESADILLA, TELL ME WHAT’S WRONG?) – they were both nice, though the loaded skins were definitely better of the two. I feel the quesadilla could have been filled a bit more, but they did fill a hole.
Main course: Now, I love Wicked so I had to get the dish titles ‘SHE’S GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. I’M THE ONE YOU WANT. IT’S MEAT. IT’S MEEAATT!’ – it was just delicious, and was accompanied by cheesy chips!
Drinks: I went for (as a teetotaller) a cappuccino, followed by a Virgin Mojito – whereas my guest went for a boozy drink that ticked all the boxes!
Desserts: Although we’re royally stuffed, we did give the chocolate cake a go! It was really nice and definitely one to share.
Finally, the best thing about this was the fact that singers sing as you eat. It could well be your idea of hell but when it’s a song from Six or Frozen, count me in! Actually, I personally loved the Seasons of Love and the cast members’ joyous personalities. They are professionals who can SING! I’ll be back, and I’d definitely recommend you to check out my instagram post where one of the fab cast members Billy Kerr went up (as I asked her wee cheekily) sang me Heart of Stone (Six) in a gorgeous Scottish accent.
Get booking (walk-ins are very few and far between!) for the new year, NOW: https://thetheatrecafe.co.uk/theatre-cafe-diner/menu/
